Guidelines for Story Submission from Young Historians

In order to qualify for sponsor bonuses and be invited to participate in our contests for prizes, your stories must:

• Be Personally Produced
• Be Between 500 and 10,000 words
  • 500 word example
  • 10,000 word example
• Follow our Fidelity, Civility & Family Friendly Rules
  • Fidelity: needs to be true, this is not the place for fiction, but history
  • Civility: does not defame people
  • Family Friendly: does NOT include profanity (if you must, replace obscenities and expletives with [***])

How To Conduct Interviews

Special Requirement for Minors

If you are under the age of 18, you MUST be under the direct supervision of your parents or legal guardian.  Where and how you conduct interviews must be approved by them.

Steps to Follow

1. Find your Subject
2. Explain your Project
3. Request an Interview
4. Schedule the Interview
5. Conduct the Interview
6. Record the Interview (audio, video or note taking - your choice)
7. Submit the Interview (at website here)
